Meet Dr. Arlette Marrero-Abreu (Tucson, AZ)

Arlette Marrero-Abreu, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in 2020 and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 2016. During her doctoral training, she worked as both a tutor and instructor and was recognized with several academic honors, including the Diversity Enhancement Fellowship and the Paul Pietsch and Aaron Wernimont Scholarships. She is also a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Dr. Marrero-Abreu chose optometry after experiencing her own struggles with vision and seeing how greatly improved sight can enhance a person’s quality of life. She provides comprehensive primary eye care with special interests in contact lenses and ocular disease management. She enjoys building strong relationships with her patients and guiding them toward clearer and more comfortable vision. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and is an active member of the Southern Arizona Optometric Society.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Marrero-Abreu enjoys hiking, reading, spending time with her spouse, and taking long walks with their three dogs.
